Book Your ConsultationBrighter, smoother skin over a course
A chemical peel is a controlled exfoliation. A solution is applied to cleansed skin, left on for a measured time and then neutralised or removed. It loosens the bonds holding dull, pigmented and congested cells at the surface, so your skin sheds them faster than it would on its own.
Shannon offers a range of chemical peels to treat signs of skin ageing, pigmentation and texture. Every course starts with a consultation and patch test, so the peel and the plan suit your skin.

Who a chemical peel suits
Peels are most useful for these common skin concerns.
Sun damage and pigmentation
Uneven tone and patches left behind by years of sun exposure.
Marks after breakouts
The flat marks that can linger once breakouts have settled.
Rough or congested texture
Skin that feels uneven or looks congested.
Fine lines and dull skin
Early fine lines, and skin that looks tired and flat.
How a course of peels works
The appointment itself is short. Most of the change happens over the following week as your skin turns over, which is why peels are normally done as a course, spaced to match your skin’s renewal cycle.
Consultation and patch test
Shannon goes through your skin history, any medication and what you’d like to change, then applies a small test patch so you can see how your skin settles over a few days.
Your plan
If your skin settles well, you leave with a plan: which peel, how many sessions, how far apart, what to do at home in between and the full cost.
Your peels
Each peel is applied to cleansed skin, left for a measured time and then neutralised or removed. With a superficial peel, expect a few days of light flaking.
Aftercare and suitability
Aftercare matters more with peels than with most treatments.
Before and after your peel
Retinoids, acids and strong exfoliants are usually paused beforehand, and Shannon will give you specific instructions.
Follow your aftercare plan closely.
Wear a broad-spectrum SPF every day afterwards.
Is a peel right for you?
Peels aren’t right for everyone. Shannon will check your history first and may suggest waiting or a different treatment if any of these apply:
Active or inflamed acne
Eczema or psoriasis in the treatment area
Recent isotretinoin use
A current cold sore
Pregnancy
Some medications
Darker skin tones need a more cautious approach because of the risk of pigmentation changes, which is exactly what the patch test is for.
Your chemical peel questions answered
Will I have to hide indoors afterwards?
Not with a superficial peel. Expect a few days of light flaking that make-up covers easily.
How many sessions will I need?
Most courses run to between four and six sessions, spaced a few weeks apart, but the number is set after your patch test rather than guessed in advance.
Can I have a peel if I have darker skin?
Often yes, but the approach is more cautious and the patch test matters more, because darker skin tones carry a higher risk of pigmentation changes after treatment. Shannon will talk this through at your consultation.
Do I need to stop any skincare beforehand?
Usually yes. Retinoids, acids and strong exfoliants are normally paused for a while before a peel, and you’ll be given specific instructions once your peel is chosen.
How much does a course cost?
It depends on the peel used and how many sessions your skin needs, so prices are confirmed at your consultation. You’ll know the full cost of the course before anything is booked, with no obligation to go ahead.
